What better place to find bats than in an old mine. The bats here were near extinction a few years ago, but are now making a come back. Look around and you might be able to find one resting just outside the cave.

Wow, a super fun evening!! We noticed the tag published and thought, “no way are we going to a bat cave in the middle of the night to find a tag!†Kim Well…maybe… 15 minutes later we were in the car using echo location to find our way to the bat cave. Of course we let the sponsor know we were heading out. As we arrived in the parking lot…YES, the parking lot is empty! We loaded up on flashlights…and…UGH, another car is pulling into the lot!!! I said, “Quick, let’s get on the trail!†Then the pick up truck gave a nice little friendly beep. I guess we should say hello…sigh. Oh…wait…I know that person…it’s our local Bump in the Night sponsor!!! Looks like we have an escort to the bat cave (and a photographer too!) Thanks for a great evening!!
