Are you afraid of things that go bump in the night?
No?
Good. You will need your wits this time around.
This is no simple park and grab.
I’m not giving you parking coordinates, or trailhead coordinates. I’m not even giving you the location of the tag. Instead, grab your flashlight and head out to the trail. I hope you have a good map.
Once you make it to the posted coordinates. Look around for two firetacks. You’ll find your prize within a few feet of the tacks.
Oh…. I hope you remembered how you got here… you now need to make your way back.
NOTE: The given coordinates are on a trial. You do not need to bushwhack to the coordinates. However, you may need to figure out what trail to take.
DISCLAIMER: I am not providing a route from or back to your means of transportation. If you think you might get lost in the dark, please do not go for this tag. It is solely your responsibility to navigate the park safely in the dark.
HINT: Nope… not this time.
One request: Once you snag the tag. If you could also grab the tacks and CITO them, that will save me a trip to remove them.
This tag is named after 1 of the 9 bat species in New York.

Well well well, looks like I bumped into the right spot at the right time this night. I was super pumped about the event, and I knew I had to try my hardest to get my hands on one of these tags, since the last couple of Snag Tag events, I missed out a bunch. Things were aligning great today, less hw than normal, getting out of work early, and my sister having practice nearby. I studied the event cache page and snag tag page and I put a ton of things together in my head. With some extra time on my hands before the publication time, I thought “screw it let’s just go to Mendon early, and try out my luck†Arrived exactly at 8pm, and when the notification went off, I struck gold! I even picked the closest parking lot, when the notification went off! Within 10 minutes, I had my hands on the prize! Came out a bit muddy, but it’s all worth it! See ya at the event! |
